Update on DS's testing
well he has had his first round of testing and from what they are seeing so far is that he falls in that line of the aspergers/autism spectrum but its probably more aspergers than anything and it doesnt appear to be on the severe side. He has another testing session on the 14th.

Once you get an official diganosis.....some of the stress will be lifted. I know for me it was very stressfull going to all the doctor appointments putting him through blood tests and missing school, him getting behind in school. However, once I finally got a definite answer.......I could finally deal with it all and concentrate on how to deal with all of his issues.
Hang in there....... |

The dr we went to wanted all this genetic testing done to rule out certain things..........I think it was abit of an overkill and costly to the insurance but he insisted on it, so we complied. Of course, it all came back good.

Blood tests help weed out other options, like allergies, diabetes, etc that could be instigating things like not eating, sleeping issues, etc.
I'm glad you are getting some answers Cat. Sarah's little man Noah has Aspergers, she might be a good one to talk to.

Oh yes I know Noah has it and I have talked to her awhile back when we first started having issues. we initially were having him tested for the aspergers and the psychologist said he didnt have it but according to the current drs we are seeing he didnt give him the right tests. so hopefully we are in much better hands.

yes I am glad we are in much better hands this time around. they really seem to care about him and want to help us to help him. we are trying something a bit different. with the lady who is doing his testing we have decided to let her do the individual therapy with him since he has to be in there with her alone anyway, but with the other counselor we are going to be doing family therapy where we are all together. she told me that robbie got a bad taste of what therapy is and since the other psychologist didnt really interact with him and when he had to come with us he would just get ignored and it was the dr just talking to us so they are thinking thats how he is associating therapy to where he doesnt have to talk and gets ignored. so we need to show him something different.
