the only thing we do outside of school is horse therapy.
sean started it oh gosh I want to say about 6 months ago? maybe not even that long...and honestly I can say he really enjoys it and I think we're seeing results. His Occupational Therapist asked if he was still doing it and I mentioned he was. She thinks she can see a direct correlation between that and his coordination and muscle control. I also bought kid yoga dvd's to do at home.....he enjoys them. I wanted to do access surf here in hawaii, but I just don't have time to drive all over the island to do these things!

yes. I really enjoy the place we go to with our son. the staff is so great. he's actually worked his way up to leading the horse without the staff member holding the reins.....he's developing a better sense of self and responsibility along with the muscle control. it's been a good experience for us.

I've known several people whose kids did hippo therapy in Germany and I have heard nothing but great things about it. ETA one of my high school classes (pedagogics) took a trip to a therapy center for kids one year and we got to talk to the music therapist there and look at her class room. From what we learned that day it is a wonderful tool

i haven't experienced these from a mother's standpoint...but i did do studies in music therapy. whenever we did case studies, patients seemed to respond well to it. of course, bedside manner is important also...but it is a rapidly growing technic that many developmental groups are using and if you have questions, you can PM me and i can do my best to answer.
oh, the reason why i did these studies is because i used to want to major in music therapy and took courses at charleston southern univ.
