Books (for parents to read/educate themselves);
Overcoming Autism--Finding the Answers, Strategies, and Hope That Can Transform a Child's Life, by Lynn Kern Koegel and Claire LaZebnik. ISBN 014303468-5 Suggested by Trey: I just finished this book and it's an excellent resource. The chapters are broken down by symptoms, so you can utilize the chapters you need. She has some excellent ideas on ways to help these children, and I would definitely suggest it, especially if you are on a waitlist for services.
