Are you or do you know someone who is lactose intolerant?

If yes, please share me your experience, recipes, and other things that helps you or the person you know take control of lactose intolerant.

i am

i just cook with and use soymilk for everything. soy ice cream soy cheese...sometimes i eat regular stuff knowing ill get sick:S but usually its soy for me

i am! its not too bad for me, so i can have milk products in small doses. but i use soy for my cereal and coffee and such. i love the vanilla soy milk

I am lactose intolerant. I wasn't always, but after gall-bladder surgery, apparently things changed.

While I do supplement with some soy products, I am a big believer in Lactaid. (Soy ice cream has a very different texture.) However, have you thought of using coconut milk in some dishes? It still has milk-like richness and adds some sweetness, simply without dairy. Another idea may be goat's milk, depending on how intolerant your body is.

I am... have been since I was about 20. I lived for a year with almost NO dairy, and read every label before I bought food items. It's gotten better over time, and now I barely notice an issue...

I took a supplement that really worked well for me.. I took them daily for a long time and it really really helped. http://www.digestiveadvantage.com/prod_adult_li.html (at first I just added in the lactaid pills to my diet before I ate dairy, but this works SOOO much better than lactaid and is more affordable.)

How do you cook with soymilk? Is it just like regular milk? I'm one day new to the whole experience and trying to figure out how to completely revamp my life right now
