    Im tellin ya, 6-9 months is being nice There are plenty more close to base You have options. I personally couldnt be away from my dh for trhat long by choice.

    You can have your things in storage for up to 90 days. I think you can request an extension but I'm not sure for how long.

    As far as commutes, he shouldn't have a problem with most of the areas in SD. Some of the places like Ramona will be a bit far but we're in murphy canyon and Kristi is in Miramar and the commutes are not bad AT ALL. It is a straight shot, all highway and it takes me 10 minutes to get to base even during "rush hour". The traffic always goes the opposite direction b/c I guess people work up north and live down south so the majority of rush hour is always going against the flow to and from base. So, if you're worried about commutes, don't be. It's not bad AT ALL. Our house in murphy canyon is less than 10 miles from base and the commute is easy peasy!
