When I first arrived last May, I was told that the wait list was still maintained by the military family housing office and that all communication must go through them first to establish your placement on the wait list. The email for the main housing office (if you don't already have it) is Web.Housing@navy.mil. They are usually very prompt at returning your email and providing the information you are looking for.

The main web page (with wait list info/times/etc) is http://www.cnrswhousing.navy.mil/mfh/default.htm

The Lincoln Clark Military Web Page (with individual numbers for each property, sq footage, amenities, etc.)
    http://www.lincolnmilitary.com/sandiego/
(look under neighborhoods and click on desired property, choose property information...site number at the very bottom)

    Gateway District Office
    2645 Hermitage View Place
    San Diego, CA 92110
    Phone: (619) 222-4853
    Fax: (619) 222-1983

Gateway is very nice. The new community center is opening in a few weeks with a fitness center, pool, kiddie pool and I am sure other things. Point Loma is a very nice place to live and close enough to downtown and the commissary to avoid horrid traffic. The elementary school is amazing and shopping in the area is coming along very nicely. Check out the website for Liberty Station to see what is there and upcoming!

also, you cant get put on the list till you are here. you can, but you have to show up within 30 days of that in person. it's not really a big deal, because they will back date you to your husband check out date from his command.
