    Shocked San Diego :)

I'm supposed to be moving down to San Diego in about three weeks and I'm super nervous. I have a few friends but they're scattered all over California and DB of course will be working a lot. Is there any places down there where it's easy to make friends??

For me. I'm an East Coast girl though so when the culture shock hit, it stung.

I adored San Diego. Adored. It is likely where we will retire someday. Different people like different things and not every place is for everyone.

Making friends is going to be just like anywhere else. Get involved with something that interests you and that will be a great opportunity to meet people. Take a class, join a program, volunteer somewhere.

You'll do fine, and I hope you love it at least half as much as I did!

SD isn't that bad. I used to go down there all the time in 2010 and 2011 to visit my ex. I loved it but I also grew up in Socal.

We have lived in SD since 2010. I like it here ok. I'm not I a gigantic fan of the business or traffic here but I am lucky enough to avoid it for the most part.

As for meeting friends, met my best friend from this website. Our husbands were coming back from deployment on the same day but from different ships and we met and lunch together the day before and now we are almost inseparable. DH is a little jealous.

I don't make friends real well because of my personality (I'm really shy and it takes a bit for me to come around to someone) I don't do well. We also have a couple of good friends because we joined a bowling league.

For the few days I was there, I loved SD. It was so pretty (I was on North Island, though, lol) and the people seemed very nice and friendly. I told dh I was going to move out there with or without him, lol.

DH: Thank you. ME: For what, babe? DH: For being you.
