I personally like USAA. We just switched from Navy Fed to them.

One of the downers that people say about USAA is that you have to mail in checks, but actually now you can just scan in your check from home and you automatically have the money.

I also like how purchases as debits show up asap and customer service is EXCELLENT.

You also get rewards or cash w/ your purchases and you get atm fees back.

USAA rocks too! We have Wells Fargo right now, and although we have had pretty good experience with them to date, we are still gonna go through USAA once our car loan is paid off next month. They are great!

Yes I agree with them. USAA is the best way to go. No there is no local branch but its the best way to go!

There is always Navy Fed if you are going to use it to just cash checks. That is the ONLY reason I have an account with them. But now with usaa scan process I will be closing my account with them. Their customer service sucks

I have to agree with the USAA cheers! It was only $25 to open the account and the service is great.

We have usaa and navy fed. I know at the armed forces bank, inside the nex on both 32nd street and north island, you don't have to have any money to open an account.

We had a Navy Federal account when lived in San Diego but I ended up switching to Wells Fargo since they are everywhere. We never had a problem with them and it is free with direct deposit. At least it was when we left in 2001.

Banking with credit unions are awesome because almost all them are co-ops. Which means that you can use ANY co-op ATM and not get charged a fee.

USAA is great when it comes to ATM fees because they get reimbursed.
