    SD Ladies-Need help!

    Advertisements
True to form, the military has found one last way to screw us. They are flying Dh into Los Angeles instead of San Diego. They waited so long to get tickets for him and are so insistant on using the government rate that Dh is now coming in one day late and into LAX. So we either have to have him take the bus, or I have to go get him from there. So my mayday is, can anyone go with me to Los Angeles? We would leave San Diego around 8am, pick him up at 11:30, and be back by approximately 2:30pm. We can put a car seat into my 4Runner if necessary.

    Help please!!

Melissa, firstly you should know leaving at 8am you are still going to hit quite a bit of bumper to bumper traffic through OC and quite possibly on into LAX. It can be a 2 hour drive...sometimes more. My family lives in Orange County and so I can agree it's not the funnest drive ever!!!

Good luck, I'd offer to come but will already be outta here!

Friday, Sorry, forgot to actually put the day.

Thanks for the tip Marla. I know about the insane traffic. That is why I budgeted 3.5 hours.

I have to work, otherwise I'd offer.

However, don't you want your first moments and the ride home with your DH to be just the two of you?

If it was San Diego, absolutely. I would feel a heck of a lot better with someone else with me for the drive. Even Dh suggested it. He does not like the idea of me driving that far by myself.

ahhh i see. if it's any consolation i used to go from here to my parents (in ventura) by myself every month or so, and thats about 170 miles. it's a straight shot from here to LAX, so if you can't find someone for some reason, you should be just fine

I have an appt. on Friday at 1, but if you can't find anyone else available by the end of today I would be willing to move my appt.

That drive alone would be so boring!

ETA: then again, maybe I shouldn't offer and have it all set up for me to be the one to go with you and then end up in labor like tomorrow.... I'm sorry! I'm just not sure my hubby would be okay with it, since my due date is so close. I really hope you find someone!
