Anyone bouth furniture from Home store on base?

    Advertisements
    Hi everyone,

I am looking into buying a couch but wanted to know if anyone has purchased furniture from the Home stores on any of the bases? Is it a lot cheaper or is it about the same just minus the sales tax?

    Thanks!

We bought some mattresses. Honestly, I think DH paid more but he was too lazy to shop around and we were at a new duty station and didn't know the area well.

We bought my son's loft bed from the one on 32nd st NB and I don't think it was any cheaper. I will say check with Big Lots because they carry some nice furniture. I never thought of them until after we bought our dining set from Jeromes for $700 and a month or so later I got an add and Big Lots had the EXACT dining set for $400. I was... not happy, LOL!

We got our kitchen table, chairs, and benches from the BX at Elmendorf seven years ago... wouldn't you know, they're still going strong and I'm tired of them.

We bought our couch the PX back in NC and it was ALOT cheaper plus no sales tax- and its a great couch! I guess it depends on what you are looking for but I thought the prices were a lot cheaper than furniture stores where they try to rip you off

Thank you everyone! I will definitely check out Big Lots and go on base to see what they have to offer as well!

You can also wait until they have the flyers with the scratchers in them. That'll save you more money. And if you combine that with opening up a STAR card (10%), you can get a pretty good deal!!! We opened up a STAR card just so we could get 10% off a clearance flat screen that also had an additional 10% off and saved a good amount. We just paid off the bill when it came in the mail...lol!

I personally love Ashley's furniture For tables, but I'm not sure if I'd buy a couch from them. I'm going with IKEA.

We got out couches from the store on base in SD(32nd street) when they were having a HUGE HUGE HUGE holiday sale(this was in September of 07). One hell of a deal on them too.
