Big Grin 100% ID Checks on SD Bases- HAVE IDS READY

    Advertisements
The bases in San Diego (and possibly elsewhere) are currently at 100% in hands ID check. This means your ID needs to be out of any cases and able to be handed to the security guard. All passengers of age need to have their ID out and ready. Make sure all civilians being escorted onto base have a valid drivers license!! This will greatly help reduce the current 25- 30 minute wait time to get onto base!

Also be prepared to be stopped for a search - verify your insurance is up to date and you have your registration and other paperwork in your vehicle! THEY WILL SCRAPE YOUR STICKERS if you do not have this information!!

Oh gese...those waits annoy me...Glad I don't have to deal with it right now...

Oh and make sure your ID is in the proper direction...I've been asked if everything was all right when I handed it over upside down...Oooops

I see that sign up at 32nd St like all the time , I thought they did that anytime. I also don't get the point of saying they have 100% ID Check, so when they don't have 100% ID Check then what kind of ID check do they do? A half-assed one?

I think the sign that says 100% ID check means they are checking every car. Back in the day, the sticker used to be enough and you didn't have to show your card at all.

At least that was always my interpretation.

I know, it sounds funny, but normally as long as 1 person has ID in the car you are allowed on base. They are currently checking everyones ID in the car, which isn't common. Its making the wait times horrendous because people dont have their IDs out and ready, have to fish them out, dont have them, argue with the gate guard about why they need one. Really really annoying.

Its not really the sign. The sign is always up meaning they will check every car. They are currently checking every PERSON.

Back in the 90's Hill AFB used to be a stickers only base. Now they are just the driver shows ID.

Just curious, as I have only been on Hill or Army installations, every Army post I have been on does 100% all the time, is that not the norm for every branch?
