A question about paying Electric bills in San Diego

SDG&E has a 20% discount for low income family's. Does anyone know if they count BAH as income? We get mixed answers from SDG&E depending on who you talk to. I was just wondering if anyone here has the answer.

I have no idea I never knew about a discount. DH and I just pay the full price.

I would think they would count BAH.

Your total yearly household income before deductions is no more than the income level guidelines of the program. http://www.sdge.com/residential/assi...ServCare.shtml

However, if they're calculating income off a 1040, then you'd be in the clear. But, if they're going off an LES, they may include it.

BAH is a form of income.

Thanks Victoria! I haven't been able to really do any research for myself because we only get dial up where we live, or I have to use the Internet on my cell phone, so in other words it would have taken me a long time.....

I noticed on our last bill about $40 of it was to fund the program. I didn't think we qualified, but I thought I would ask to see . One of the forms said that if you qualify for WIC then you might qualify and we qualify for WIC because they do not count BAH.
