Private schools in SD
Can anyone recommend a good private preschool/elementary school in the San Diego area. Or any schools to avoid?
We live in Murphy Canyon and looking to send my 3 1/2 year old to preschool very soon. Thanks

Try looking in www.sandiegofamilymagazine.com. They usually have a long list of private dacare/schools. I am pretty sure I have the link right but if not..just google san diego family magazine. good luck!

THanks for the info- THere are soo many different schools out there
I was just wondering if someone could recommend a good one. Some of the reviews online are really outdated and from at least a couple years back. |

i went to st. micheals academy in paradise hills and didnt like it much cause being mexican i was the minority compared to all the filipinos there and well everything we did revolved around that culture. and although i have nothing againist that culture i would have liked diversity like in st. charles or st. puis. st. rose of lima in chula vista is one of the best elemantary out there.. so i'm from here so i know alot about all the private schools.

I've heard nothing but great things about La Jolla Country Day School.

I don't know what there rates are for PreSchoolers. It's over in Lakeside so it's a little bit of a drive. My son has gone there through kindergarden he's now in 4th grade. You might want to check it out. (619) 938-0933 - The director is Sandy. I can't say enough about how great they are with my son. Creative and wonderful. Low teacher turn over too. It's not a high end school where computers are the most important thing. Instead it's like going back 40 years in education and learning from a teacher who loves the kids. We pay $550 a month for full time including before and after school care.

Good luck with your search! If you're looking for a 5 day preschool, full-time, $300 a month sounds rare to me.

We pay $100 a week for 2 full days a week, at a non-private preschool. I am not sure that you could find private for that cheap unless it was via a scholarship or something.
