    Anyone ship a car?

    Advertisements
We are moving to San Diego this summer and will be coming from NC.
Just wondering if anyone has shipped a car and could recommend a good company to use- there are so many different places out there.

    Thanks for your help!

We shipped our car from IL to CA. We called around, check BBB and such. It is cheaper to go with an open carrier rather then a closed carrier. Your car will be exposed to the weather and such in an open carrier but I figured if we woulda driven it would of been as well.

My advice it to call around, price what you want, check the BBB for complaints and such and go there. We were going through 1 and they kept jerking us around and I looked on the BBB and found numerous complaints on them. So we found another place.

    Thanks
Yeah that is what I have been doing but there are soo many different places. And since we wont be moving until June, the prices will be going up for the summer- but at least I can get some kind of idea what the price will be.

May I ask what company did you go with and which one wouldn't you recommend?

    thank you

I used Dependable Auto Shippers to ship my car from Fl to CA...it was about $700 and it is NOT reimbursable from the government above what the milage would have been for me to drive the second vehicle. It was well worth it though and I was very happy with the service.

We are driving 1 car and shipping 1 car, I know we get mileage for the car that we are driving-
Is there a way to get money for the car we ship too?

THanks for all your help- still researching different companies but looks like June is going to really high
