I've decided that this Christmas I want to volunteer somewhere .... maybe an orphange, a homeless shelter .... does anyone know where I would get started ...??

What about hospitals? They are always looking for volunteers.

I volunteer all the time down at our hospital, its really nice, and I actually look forword to going down there. I get to hold the new babies :0) and also read to the kids that are there.. It makes me feel really good

If you are specifically wanting to do volunteer work with kids, Id try Children's hospital, or the Salvation Army. They have the Ray and Joan Kroc center in San Diego, and they always have a HUGE Christmas Party and need tons of volunteers.

Maybe working with the kids at the orphange here ..

We used to donate money to "The San Diego Rescue Mission" every year. They always invited us to go help out and see exactly what they do, but I never got around to doing it. Here's the website, if you're interested: San Diego Rescue Mission
