I don't know if your walmarts are the same as mine but if they are go there! We got all our moving boxes from them. They have nights they have shipments so I went on those night around 11:30 and they have them in the aisles and you just take them. Well that's how it is over here anyway I say call one near you and ask.

Yes that is a good idea. The local Wal-Mart here is the same. It is best to call and ask because most have cardboard compactors which kill the boxes. Dumpster diving for boxes is not all that much fun.

If Wal-Mart isn't available, just try any retail store. Most receive shipments at least once a week and those boxes are very sturdy.

Yeah that's why I went at 11:30pm because they were still taking the stuff out of the boxes and putting them to the side. I basically got to them before they compacted them. If I don't go at that time it's too late and I don't get any boxes. If you go on a night where they didn't get a shipment in (I went on a night like that lol) they have very few boxes and usually small ones. That's why call ahead and ask which nights are the best to go.

I know here at Great Lakes, if your military you can call the people who unpacked you when you PCS'ed and they will give you used boxes for free. So maybe try calling around to moving companies in the area asking for used boxes?

See I'm cheap so if I can get them for free I'd rather do that.

Oh, I hear you on that! However, I'm mega anal and want to pack now and can't find any for free. So, I'm buying some.
