I think it really depends. Im not there and havn't looked or anything but we have some friends who just moved there and the couple got a house in 3 weeks, the family needed a 3 bedroom and they camped in a camp ground I guess for a month or so and then the command found out about it and got them in a house in 3 days. So housing is there its just a matter of housing being willing to hurry things up I think.

all depends on the neighborhood you're applying for... some of them have LONG waits, and others don't... you can find out the approximate wait times on the housing website.. Here's the direct link to the San Diego Housing Wait Time list...http://www.cnrswhousing.navy.mil/mfh/waittime.htm
