anyone near 29 palms? - SouthWestern U.S

I will be moving on base there sometime around August/September when DH get back from Japan tour in August and I want to try to make some friends.

Not anymore but I lived there for 2 yrs. I absolutely loved every single minute of it. Its a either you love it or hate it kind of base. I am a city girl and hated it for about a month then learned to enjoy the quietness, the beautiful sunrises and sunsets, enjoy the heat, make friends, volunteer for the units KV makes friends and just keep busy. I miss it there. We lived in Joe Davis housing out in town off adobe road.

I'm going to try to make friends, but I'm also kind of scared because it's the first time that I'll be away from my dad.

I was raised around that area-not in 29 specifically, but around there in general. I liked it then but hate it now cause I have traveled & seen more & now I know better.
