living off base in Camp Lejeune, NC

i was just wondering which are the best places to live off base.. i mean, a decent and economic place to live..just wondering since i have been told about the old houses on base and that is how they were doin in tx at sheppard.... so if we can live off base it will be best unless we stay at one of the new houses LOL!!!

I believe one of the places is called Pirate's Cove in Swansboro. I have friends that live there and they like it. I will give a call tomorrow and see who they rent through. Also here is the local newspaper

we are considering the reserve at jacksonville commons....... still trying to sort it all out....what are you guys looking for? apt, house, how many bdrms?

Well we are looking into the Reserve, but also Marsh Oaks...they are townhomes that are located pretty close to the base. Lots of people who work at the hospital with DH live in that area and seem to really enjoy it....DH is having ot do all the checkign out for us right now and im just going on what hes finding....when are you moving?

DH will be there mid Feb. so he will be doing all the checking out as well.. i should be there with dd by May..u?
