Living here! Neither love nor hate it. It's VERY small and quiet. It's frustrating since you have to drive to Jacksonville to do anything. We live off base. If you want to PM me I can tell you where we live, rent, etc.

we love it! we bought off base. the cost of living and BAh are good, and there are losts of rentals ( even homes) in most price ranges.

we love the Quiet and peacefulness of the area.

we do have to travel a bit to get to some stores- but we do have a super wall mart, a publix, winn dixie, Belk, and beals outlet store, oh and a k mart and tons of small stores.
( and we have a lowes)
for target,ross, bed bath and beyond and other stores it is about 20-30 minutes away, and to the north a small mall and another target, lowes, home depot, ross ect just 40 minutes away.

but to get to other big malls you are looking at 45 minutes to those.

there are jobs, but not very many- it depends on what you do. alot drive north into brunswick or south into Jax.

the base has a good cliic, a commisary, an exchange a pool, a gym ( it is actually pretty big, LOL for CG standards anyway!

)

we have all the fast food resteraunts and lots of others chain and non-chain, like apple bees ruby tuesdays ect.
I am not at my home computer to post links but if you google St. marys or kingsland you will get a ton of links for the area.

also if you need rental help I am a real estate agent here and at no cost to you I can help you find a rental and send you relocation info. just let me know!

Haven't lived there but visited many times during our time in Jacksonville. It's super close to Jax, so you have anything you could want/need right there. Kings Bay is very small and much quieter than Jacksonville, but I found that to be refreshing

I'd live there in a heartbeat!

just wanted to add that i'm from palm beach florida. I am used to fast pace and everything being 5 min away lol so that might be why I don't love it here

We go to the clinic on base and I'm not impressed. It's pretty easy to get an appt in a decent amount of time though. I have friends who go to different docs in town and are happy. But again, they have some great hospitals in Jax if you need a specialist in something that isn't offered in Kings Bay..

I have no clue about the base but we did visit that area last month.

Cumberland Island is a must see if you go there!
