Tell me about Fort Bragg?? - SouthEastern U.S

We've had only one AD duty station - Germany. My DH just got orders for Fort Bragg.

Can anyone tell me about it? Why have the two people I've told so far looked at me with sympathy and said, "Awww."???

LOL that's where we are..and umm..
lets just say Fayetteville isn't the most classy place in the world
lots of drunk people and hookers everywhere but other than that it's just lovely

nah it's really not all that bad

Hey D, thats where Ryan came from before Germany!

I only went for a weekend but Ryan enjoyed being there - said it was a really good army base - (ryan has said Germany is a joke compared to Bragg)

Its bloody hot in summer and there seems to be some nice restaurants - the mash house - GREAT crab dip!! just maybe not much else to do!

My husband is from Fayetteville and we lived there before we PCS'ed to GA. People over exaggerate. Yeah you have 1 main area where alot of hookers and transvestites hang on Bragg Blvd, but if you not hanging on there chances are you wont even know that crap exist. Most areas have 1 or crappy areas that people dont need to be near. In Fayettevilles case its Murchison Rd aka the Murch and Bragg Blvd.

When we lived there we had a nice apt and a nice house in a decent area. Please do not let people fill your head with over exagerration. Plenty of shopping and eateries and you can always go to SC for the weekend or hit up Raleigh for some major shoopping and fun. FL and GA arent to far neither for those 4 day weekends.

it's ok. Not the best base I've been to not the worst. You can drive up to Raliegh there are things to do. Just well not he best. But no the worst.

That is your opinon. I don't feel I am over exagerating when I say I don't love it. That is MY opinion. It's not the worst place but it's not great either. There is shopping and eateries sure but like I said it's not the best it's not the worst. It's not for me at all.

Berkley sooooo not talking about you. Just saying general when people start talking about hookers and drunks etc. My opinion is my opinion as well but just trying to let her know to be aware that some people will make it sound worse then what it is like crackheads and drunkies and hookers are walking all over and thats not true, dont wanna scare the **** out of anybody.

And yea the hookers thing is not true at all. There is one place but in damn near every town you can find a hooker...lol The only place I've seen one here is on Swain Street But who ever goes there...lol
There are alot of angry *******s around here tho. I've never been to such an angry town.

If you go down Bragg Blvd pass Bragg and past well hell I'm blanking on the name.. anyway keep going and before you hit the entrance "ramp" to Skibo there is a little side street from Bragg to Swain. It will take you to a side entrance to Sam's club it's right at a car dealership that looks like a boathouse .. sort of..lol
I know that was probably the WORST description ever but it's 4 am I be sllllleepy..lol
