    Dogs stolen at Ft. Hood

    Advertisements
I'm not sure how many people we have living on post but I wanted to share this, it was on my FB -

I think someone or a group is going around Fort Hood stealing dogs. The black Lab Bella is the second dog I've heard of that sounds a lot like a dog-napping. When my husband signed back in from leave, one of the guys at the desk said his daughter saw someone take their Pug. I'd say if you live on post, DO NOT leave your dog unattended even in a fenced in yard. If they need to go out, supervise them or take them on a leash. And if you see a vehicle that you dont know driving slowly thru your neighborhood, it's always better to be safe than sorry and report it to the MP's.
Anytime a dog is just left outside unattended, there's always an inherent risk, but there have been two incidents recently. So some extra vigilance would be prudent. And I hope they find those dogs.

This is what happened to Bella that is mentioned in the first post -

I am sad to say that New Year's Day we got a call from the dog sitter that said the gate was open and her collar was on the ground. We don't know what happened to Bella. She is microchipped. We have searched all over and have not seen her
So both times it looks like someone went into a fenced yard and took the dog.

That's scary . . . and then I think about kids and all the bad things that could happen.

I'm an idealist; a military base should be the safest place in America for animals and children.

I know, a lot of people are sharing on FB so Ft. Hood people know to watch their dogs. But I wanted to post here too. I've known several people who have had dogs stolen though (just in general) ... when I was a kid someone stole a dog we had.

Just one of the many reasons why I never leave my dogs outside alone. There's too many messed up people out there.

That's so mean! Hopefully they can find the missing dogs! And find who did it! I would be devastated if someone ever took my kitties from me.

An Angel visited this gray path,
    And took the cube away.

That's despicable. And you wonder how they manage to take the dogs, especially if the dognapper is a stranger.
