When we go eat sushi they always bring us this yummy soup which I thought was some type of miso soup but I'm not sure cause when I google it they all look different. I know it definitely does not have those dice white things in it
![]() It's made in some type of stock and they put mushroom, chives and fried noodles I think it is. Any idea what they are really and any recipe? |

I
miso soup and it's really easy to make, but if yours has the little green onions in it then I think it's something else (I was told it was Japanese onion soup). But, I can send you a miso soup recipe. Do you have an Asian market nearby?

Try this for your soup...http://www.recipezaar.com/251793 This one has more veggies than I usually see, but you can usually cut them out.
Here's the miso soup recipe I use. http://japanesefood.about.com/od/mis...sosouptofu.htm You can find the miso at an Asian market. I use Kombu dashi (basically seaweed soup stock) and here are some instructions. You can find Kombu at the Asian market too, but don't get the flaky stuff that is used for sushi, the stuff you get should be thick and might look dirty. http://japanesefood.about.com/od/sou...kombudashi.htm Oh, and yes, I am a nerd.

http://japanesefood.about.com/od/sou...shroomsoup.htm
Ingredients: * 1 enoki mushroom * 4 shiitake mushrooms * 2 oz. harusame/cellophane noodles * 1 negi * 3 1/2 cup chicken soup stock * 2 tbsp soy sauce * 1 tbsp sake * 1/2 tsp salt * 1 tbsp vegetable oil Preparation: Remove stems from shiitake mushrooms and slice thinly. Cut the bottom of enoki mushroom off. Cut enoki into 2 inch lengths. Soak harusame in warm water for five minutes. Drain harusame and cut into 3 inch lengths. Slice negi diagonally. Heat oil in a pan. Saute mushrooms. Pour chicken soup stock over the mushrooms and heat the soup. Skim off impurities that rise to the surface. Add harusame and negi in the soup and heat. Season with soy sauce, sake, and salt. |
