Alright, I think this is a little crazy. Rules are rules, thats all there is to it. 1 line, 2 lines, 20 lines...its still over. Some people can size things extremely easily just by eyeing it, others can not. I, for one, can not, which is why Im not putting up a huge fuss about my siggy being deleted. Easiest way I figure to measure it next time...sticky notes. Line up some kind of sticky notes on the side of my monitor for the space amount Im allowed...and tada...instant measurements.

I think some people need to get lives rather than run around reporting peoples signatures. Jeez. I haven't changed mine since I've been here, I have a paid membership and all of a sudden mine is gone.

I think the reason you're having so much issue with the signatures is because "15 lines" isn't a very good definition and very hard to follow.

I know I've seen before 250 pixels and 500 pixels for nonjewels and jewels respectively, I think if you uploaded a blank image with the dimensions allowed it would help.

ETA: Since you're just using the "lines" posted in the text, there is the chance of a slight variation on the width/height since some people may have different computer settings. Like default fonts and stuff that could skew the measurements.

Ok well normally I would take full responsibility for the reports since I am crazy anal about this stuff, however quite a few peoples are being deleted who I know I did not report. Yes there have been some who have only been over a few lines that I reported, but most of the time that is because they have been told time and time again to shrink it.... I did speak with sunshyne about this so I personally will be cutting back on reports and just focusing on major ones.. But as a word of advice once you make your siggy, get it checked by someone else (PM a friend, post in the check thread, ask a mod to check it)...

And about the sending out messages stuff... I used to send out a good 30ish messages a day to people who signature was over. Some were very grateful for the message, however most were not and gave a hell of an attitude or rude comment back. I dont mind sending the messages, but it does take a toll to send it, deal with the response if its rude, go back and check the next day to make sure they changed it, and if not then report it for the mods to deal with... I get people are pissed, if mine was hacked I would be too...

A good rule of thumb for those who are not good at sizing by eye is to watch your pixels... if your not a jewel, dont go over 200 for any graphic. If you are adding text, take it down 25 pixels for every line of text. Same for the width... the max is 600, if you want 3 pictures, make sure they dont go over 200pixels width each

helloimkaley I think thats a good idea for the block... I know we had one at some point, but if not I will make one and post it in my check thread. Right now there is a width a length measurement for both jewel and non-jewel up there, but maybe the block will be easier!

So anyone with a quote in their siggy is well over the width allowed for a signature since there is a graphic band that runs the width of the signature.

At any rate, it's time for me to go off an focus on more important things than a forum. Better I double my course load than spend time screwing around in there.

The quotes will run as long as the page space allows it so there really is no way to measure it... It will be different sizes depending on how wide your screen it...

I guess the mods could ban putting quotes in there, but there is no way for someone to space that themselves so I know that I dont really include that for width if im looking at a siggy...
