    Mashed potatoes

Do you eat your mashed potatoes plain or do you set out condiments?

This is DB's first Thanksgiving and we want to make a good impression by contributing something. He makes delicious mashed taters but we were wondering if we should bring horseradish, cheese, sour cream, scallions, bacon bits, etc.?

For me on thanksgiving it's ALL about the gravy

Honestly the only things I've seen people use on mash is gravy or butter...
I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so you can learn to let go.
Things go wrong so you can appreciate them when they're right.
You believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself.
And sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

If it is just regular mashed potatoes with nothing fancy to them besides being smashed I say turkey gravy or county gravy! That is all I'd put on my mashed taters ever.

I almost always do Mashed potato casserole when I do mashed potatoes though.

In a 13x9 Casserole dish I put a layer of prepared mashed potatoes, then the middle layer is cheese normally mild cheddar, and then another layer of potatoes. Then sprinkle with more cheese and bacon bits(or even your own freshly cooked bacon that you rip/cut into tiny pieces yourself). Pop in a oven preheated to about 400 degrees till the cheese is nice and melted then pull it out and if you want add finely diced green onion(AKA chives).
    Signature removed due to size.

It's good and there may or may not have been times when I added cubed cooked chicken to the middle layer while on and just ate that for lunch AND dinner.

    I me some starches.

    With your tater fixings!
