Cheap, Easy, Tastey Rice
This is a really good standby when you don't know what other side dish to make. It's also really cheap to make, low fat, low cal, can be used with several different dishes and types of ingredients... you can add in veggies, meat, make into a casserole, etc.
Rice Cooked with Chicken Broth 1. Decide how much rice you want to make. 2. Use 1 1/2 cups of Chicken stock/broth for every cup of rice. 3. Bring broth and rice to a boil on medium heat. 4. When it is boiling, bring the rice to medium-low heat. 5. Place a lid on the pot and keep it tilted to allow steam to escape. 6. When you can see holes or "craters" in the rice, put the lid on tight. 7. Turn the heat to low and simmer for another 15 minutes. 8. Fluff rice and serve. Be sure to add in some fresh cracked pepper and a little bit of garlic powder or other seasoning to taste
