Looking for Macaroni and Cheese
So my boyfriend is EXTREMELY PICKY! It's really hard to cook for him, so most of the time we end up going out to eat. But I'd really like to start cooking more. He really likes macaroni and cheese, but he doesn't like the stuff with bread crumbs on top. I'm looking for a basic, creamy, cheesy recipe. Anyone have one? In case you've ever been to Noodles and Company, he REALLY likes their macaroni and cheese!

My mom makes the best homemade macaroni and cheese.
I've never made it myself but I know what it is: Large elbow macaroni, a little bit of milk, 2 cans of the Campbells soup can that's JUST cheese sauce or whatever. I know I'm not that clear, but that's all it is. |

this is a copycat recipe I found... I don't know how good it is.. but worth a try
1 lb. elbow noodles (I use creamette elbow springs for kids) 1/4 cup butter 1/4 cup flour 3 cups half and half 1/2 tsp salt 3 Cups Monterrey Jack (or Colby Jack) Cook pasta according to package directions. In large saucepan, melt butter. Stir in flour making a roux. Gradually stir in half and half whisking until thickened. Stir in salt. Remove from heat. Add cheese, stir until cheese melts. Top with fancy shredded mild cheddar cheese. |

I don't know if this is creamy enough.
But my mom used to make a box of macaronis, and then melt half a block of velveeta cheese into it. It seriously takes her five minutes after the macaronis are cooked, and we all loved it. It was the only mac and cheese we would eat. But we were a family of seven, and this was when we were really little.
