Help Looking for Fresh Homemade Salad Dressings

    Advertisements
Got a good recipe? Make it yourself, fresh cut herbs, oil, salt pepper, etc.
Tell me which ones you use. Thanks!

    Raspberry Vinaigrette
Makes about 1 1/4 salad dressing bottles

1 quart (1 lb) fresh raspberries
    1 1/4 cups white vinegar
    1 1/2 cups sugar

Put berries in a jar and pour the vinegar over. Let stand for 6 days, shaking up once a day. At the end of the 6th day, strain the mixture to remove solids; bring liquid to a boil adding the sugar and tasting for sweetness before adding the whole amount of sugar.

Boil for 1 minute or so.

Pour in cruet or empty, cleaned salad dressing bottle.

    Here's two:
Lemon vinaigrette - Juice and zest of 1 lemon, 2 tbsp white wine vinegar, 6 tbsp olive oil, 2 tsp mustard powder, salt and pepper. Combine in jar or shaker.

Mayonnaise - 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk, 1/4 cup vinegar, 1/4 tsp salt. Combine and leave in fridge. To make this "creamy mustard seed dressing" add 1 tbsp grainy mustard.
"For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope". Jeremiah 29:11

I mix fresh basil chopped with some honey and microwave it for just a few seconds to make it nice and smooth, then add balsamic vinegar, some EVOO, and a bit of water. Mix it up and it is sooooo yummy. I always serve this over my mozzarella caprese salad (slices of tomato, slices of fresh mozzarella, and basil leaves).
