SHIT. This is due to total scatter brain. I thought my first car payment was due the 12th. WRONG. It was due the 2nd! The day that just freaking passed and is gone! What do I do?!!!! Call them tomorrow and explain to them how stupid I am and see if I can pay it over the phone?! UGH. I feel so ridiculously irresponsible right now.

Call tomorrow morning. A lot of places have a grace period before you face consequences for a late payment.

You can call and it should be ok! The same thing has happened to me before and nothing bad happened, it was a week or so late and I didn't get charged a late fee or anything

Most places have a grace period. Not all but most. Call then, let them know your mistake and ask if there is a grace period.

The only thing I've ever had payments on are school loans, but does it not just roll right over to the next check?
Pay ahead for next month and you'll be on the straight and narrow interest-wise again, I would assume.

We did something similar, except we thought we had auto payments setup. We just paid it off asap and it wasn't an issue for us. (USAA loan)

It's ok! You aren't the first person this has happened to and you won't be the last. Especially with it being the first payment they will likely be understanding.

They may take payments over the phone, depends on your lender. If you are paying out of an account that's not with the lender be sure and have your account info with you.

it happens to the best of us! Like a lot of others said, most banks have a grace period, I have mine set up to auto draft but DH's bank he calls the payment in and they said he has I think 10 days after the due date to make the payment before any late fees will accrue. That's through Navy Fed.

Either make the payment online now or call them first thing in the morning.

They probably have a grace period I did something similar not long ago, I freaked out because I'd never paid a bill late before in my life but there were no penalties or anything .
