    no job - help!

DH is AF Reserve. He just found out today that his civilian job is being 'discontinued' in two weeks. He's been applying all sorts of places, but I was wondering if you guys knew of any assistance that we could get in the meantime. Well besides welfare... Anything for military families? Any ideas would be helpful. THANK YOU!!

    I'd start with unemployment.

He'll want to start with unemployment to see if he is eligible for benefits. It may be faster/easier to find a placement for now (either as a stop gap while searching for a better/different job, or as a way to get his foot in the door for a permanent position) by utilizing job placement services (aka temp agencies) - they place for everything from technical to clerical to mechanical/factory and all things in between ....so many employers these days use "temp to hire" to fill all vacancies that this can often be the only way to get into certain employers. Has he dusted off and polished up his resume? Is it current and relevant to the sort of work he is seeking?
