    Would this be appropriate?

So. As some of you know, I've been job hunting for a nursing position and turning up nada (I got 8 rejection letters today! Woo!). WELL a position just posted (like within the last few hours) for a job on a unit where I did my clinical immersion. It isn't my dream job, but I LOVED that unit and am still in touch with my preceptor. Would it be appropriate for me to ask for his managers email address so I could shoot her an email saying how much I enjoyed my time there and that I had noticed they had a job opening and that I had applied? Or no? I haven't been on the unit since April... and I never had the chance to meet the manager (weekend shifts :/).

I REALLY NEED A JOB GUYS AND I SUCK AT THIS.

I think it sounds like a good idea to get your foot back in!

I think it's not only fine, but may give you a boost.
I'm the preceptor for our ultrasound students and those who apply and have stayed in touch with me, are atleast always interviewed, and often land the gig.

Our manager has the mindset of "if you know what its really like here, and you still want to work here, more power to you!". A simple email shows iniative... just don't keep emailing her and get stalkerish (that backfires!)

I think that it sounds like a fine idea. If you two had a relationship I he best and a good one at that I see no reason why not to touch base with her.

I figured that, but OMG have there been some stalkers! None of my students, thankfully!
