If they're not paying for you to move there they won't let you live on base. You could live off base if you chose to pay all your expenses. You'd get BAH.

As others have said, the length of his training and the commands policies will determine if you're eligible for on-base housing.

When you get a chance, please head over to the Newbie forum and introduce yourself so we can get to know you better.

When I moved here (Sheppard AFB while DH is in tech school) they offered for me to live on base... I chose not too, but I could have if I wanted to. It might depend on the base. Here they allow civilians to live in the on base housing. I thought that was a little weird.

In privatized housing, if occupancy is below a certain level they are allowed to offer the homes for rent to the community.

I am surprised they wont pay to bring you. Usually training over 20 weeks spouse is authorized. At least that's what I was told.

If you're authorized to got to AIT with him on his orders, then you may be able to, if there's room. It will most likely depend though.

If you're not on his AIT orders, then no. You would be paying to moving there out of your own pocket, but you will get BAH, so if you're willing to pay to get yourself there and live off post, you could.
