Yeah DH and I have been trying to buy a house but haven't had any luck yet. We have had sort of a blessing come our way though. With my grandparents getting older and more feeble, they are going into an independent living apartment complex. DH and I will be talking to them once they are settled in their apartment about renting their place until we know for sure how much DH is going to make. If we can afford it, we're hoping to buy their home. I can't bear the thought of someone else living in their house. Not to mention the fact that it has all the things we want in a home. It has 3 bedrooms, possible 4, 2 baths, formal living room, family room, dining room, kitchen, enclosed porch, full finished basement that has a full kitchen (grandparents do canning), a storage room in the basement and a larger general area. It also has a 2 car garage attached, a full attic, another garage for the bikes and mowers and such and it sits on about an acre and a half. I absolutely love their house and would be honored to own it. My grandparents built it back in 1963, and looking at it other than it being out dated a bit, you would think that it is a newer home because it has been taken care of. The bonus is that it is in the school district that I want to move to. My cousin ran some comps the other day and said the house would go for 125k-130k. I'm pretty sure we'll be able to swing that once DH is out, but we're not sure as of yet. I know we talked to my aunt about it and she thinks it is a great idea. We talked about paying $500 a month for rent til we knew how much we could afford to buy. Normally I would complain about renting something cause most of the people just pocket the money or pay their own mortgage with it. At least I know what we would pay them would go to taking care of them.

I was suprised that the ex would let me have my daughter 2 weekends in a row. Of course after my daughter started bugging him about coming home to mommy, he agreed. No matter how tainted they are trying to get her mind against me, she still knows better.

Thanks for checking in on me. My Monday wasn't too bad. I stayed busy at work. That's not always that bad, but I just wasn't in a dealing with people mood tonight. How was your Monday?

BTW, thanks for the e-cards. They made me smile. I did make good money tonight, but was too busy to take a nap.

My Monday was okay...it was a bit rough. Hubby was talking to the two oldest about him leaving...they have never had daddy gone as much as he has been until he came on sea duty. With this being our first deployment, he was trying to explain everything to them. I had to go upstairs while he was talking because I was having a breakdown....crying wise... sorry, didn't mean to bring you into my depressing moments.

I am sorry to hear that you guys haven't had any luck. Your grandparents house sounds nice...that would be great if you guys could live there and then end up buying it. It sounds like a very nice house.
I am glad that your ex hasn't been able to get your daughter to turn on ya. I sooooo hate it when people do that. I don't understand it. But I have never been in that situation, so I don't have any experience with it.
How has your week been going? Sorry, I didn't respond yesterday. I have been soooo busy with hubby getting ready to leave and all.

So far the week hasn't been too bad. I'm off tomorrow and Friday. It's going to give me time to get stuff done around the house. I can't remember the last time I had 2 days off in a row.

It's okay that you laid some of your stresses out there. I understand. I was the same way when DH deployed last year. In fact, a year ago today he deployed. It was only a 6 1/2 month deployment, but it still sucked.

Not sure what I'm going to do when Tori gets home since it'll be just me and her this weekend. Probably get up and go to church on Sunday. I haven't done that in awhile and I feel like I should go back.

As for the house, everything happens for a reason. Maybe that is why we were waiting. Maybe we were meant to have mawmaw and pawpaw's house.

I just wanted to let ya know that I won't be on here this weekend but I will be back on here on Monday...I just wanted to let ya know so that way you didn't think that I forgot about you.
How is everything going?? Everything is okay here....We have a busy weekend ahead of us...
Thanks for not minding me venting....my hubby will be leaving for 7-9 months and this is our first deployment and we have a handful of kids...literally. The youngest is 6 months today. I am just glad that he got to see the 6th month mark.

My weekend with my daughter was great. We had lots of fun. No plans for the week except working. DH comes home Friday night to spend the weekend with us. DD will be happy to see daddy Andy since she hasn't seen him for almost 2 months. Thanks for checking in on me.
