Trouble Deciding...
I can't decide which of these 2 career schools to take the medical office asst program. If anyone has any suggestions it would be great. I am comparing them, but wanted to see what others who may have went to these schools had to say. Thanks
Here is the 1st one... Penn Foster Career School http://www.pennfoster.com/medoa/index.html And this is the 2nd one... PCDI and with them its a certificate in Medical and Dental Office Assisting http://www.pcdi.com/courses/ww/ |

They both are certificates... the one at PCDI is just called mecial and dental not just medical.
Are you doing online or doing the home study Dawn? I am just kinda scared to take the step to sign up for it and then it be useless... I would think it would be helpful. I do want to be a nurse but I think that maybe doing this would be the 1st step... got to work from the bottom up sometimes. |

Finding my own path!

Wish I could help Cori, but I do know that a lot of hospitals and medical centers want nurses to have 1 year of experience in places so getting a certificate and having some work experience might be a better way to start!! Good luck and hope things work for you!!

I do home study with testing online..I like it I can do it when I have time to myself. I'm doing the tax preparer so that when Adam gets out I can work in that field while i'm getting my accounting degree. If it were me I would get the one thats medical and dental office..because then if you can't find a job in a medical office you can always turn to the dental until you find a medical job. You just have another choice if need be with just a medical one your stuck if you can't find anything.
I really like PCDI they are really good to me I can't complain....plus you might want to look at the cost of each one heres Penn: The total price for the Penn Foster Medical Office Assistant Program is $798.00. (Tuition of $620.00, a registration fee of $93.00, a credit application fee of $25.00, a technology fee of $35.00, and a shipping and handling charge of $25.00.) I'm wondering what do they need a credit app for? and an app fee..geeze heres PCDI: Medical and Dental Assisting - Full tuition: $689.00 Easy Payment Plan: low down payment of $9.00; interest-free monthly payments of $36.00 each month for 18 months; plus a final payment of $32.00 also $24.00 - This covers shipment of all the materials for this course, and you will be billed $2.00 per month for 12 months. This is a non-refundable fee. so with PCDI you get more and pay less...so if it were me i'd pick PCDI. |
