Pharmaceutical Reps - School & Work

I was interested in a pharmaceutical rep position, but it looks like every job I find is a scam of some sort, or just not what it claims. Job boards have them listed, but they're based nation wide and just seem sketchy. Is anyone a rep or does anyone know someone who is and how they got their job?

I have a few friends that are reps for large companies. All of them were in sales for other companies and were head hunted by the pharm companies. They gained experience in sales first. Right now in our area its a hard field to be in with the buy outs going on. All of them are on edge about losing their jobs. They work for Bayer and Pfizer and Wyeth. Good luck!

I have a good friend who is a pharm rep. She had been in sales for a few years and the company she wanted to work for said she needed a few more years of sales experience so she did and few more and was then hired.
