How do you study?
I have a HUGE certification test coming up in a few weeks and I have been studying for about two-three months now! I have to pass or else I can not practice on my own. I have been using practice tests, I have bought exam review books, re-read old text books, and made flash cards for words/concepts that I am having trouble remembering. So my question is what do you find helpful when studying? How do you motivate yourself to study? Any good tips/advice? Anything would be appreciated

I'm in the same boat as you. I have a huge certification test next Saturday. I have put it off and put it off and now I'm scared. I'm reviewing the material, taking practice tests and identifying the areas I'm weak in. It's open book, so I'm going to spend a day or two making a reference sheet.
I'm thinking about looking online as well for a youtube video or tutorial or some of the areas I'm really struggling with. Good luck to you! |

it sounds like you have the materials and what not you need, the motivation is the hardest part for me. I use little rewards... say if for example i have to read chapter 6 and write a paper. i read chapter 6, reward myself with 5 or 10 minutes of relaxation, tv, or msos, and then write the paper. or i have a bag of skittles and every time i finish a task, i get to eat a few skittles.
its also important to take things one step at a time and not let the work overwhelm you, which the mini study breaks help

cllgefrk13: What is your certification exam for? Open book sounds so nice! Good thinking with making a review guide. Good luck to you as well! I will be thinking of you on Saturday.
pinkandpretty4564: Thanks for the advice! I am going to try the little reward idea, candy would work perfect with me since I love candy I'd just have to resist eating it all at once! I have a big reward for after my Certification exam and that is to go to Germany to spend a few weeks with J

What that description doesn't mention is that it is heavy on the stats. Luckily I had an advanced statistics for experimenters class last semester, so hopefully I can remember some of it All this studying is making me bonkers!!What is your exam for? |

WOW! That is really interesting! I hope your class helps, I am sure it will. I know how you feel with the studying and going bonkers! I am so ready to just be done and not have to think about this anymore! My exam called the BOC and it is to become a Certified Athletic Trainer.

Thank you! Well I only would be able to help you with an injury. Athletic Training is a bit confusing because its very close to physical therapy as opposed to personal training. But if your ever injured or need advice how to prevent an injury I could help you
