Need a research paper topic

Can be anything for history. Original research (as much as possible, so more like at least make my own conclusion, lol) etc etc... Oye... what do I want for my topic?? It's not that long of a paper (7-10 pages) so I really need to try to find something narrow enough I can write on easily. I normally do modern Germany either Weimar period, Holocaust or post WWII reconstruction type stuff. Any ideas? My last paper was as an undergrad and I don't want to rewrite on something I've written about before.

Hmm... I'm thinking about papers I've written. I think my favorite a few years ago was one I wrote regarding the Boston Tea Party. Does that work as a topic for your class?

Why not? You can expand it to make it look like graduate-level work, but there's nothig wrong withusig the same topic, even recyclig the same paper.

I have so done that! It's your own work so nothing wrong with recycling it!

I am currently working on a term paper for my History of Aviation in America class and it's on women in Aviation. I picked 2 ladies who not only had to break the gender bias but also racism because one is an African-American woman named Bessie Coleman and the other is a Chinese-American woman named Hazel Ah Ying Lee, who was a WASP. My MIL works for her nephew. I am also writing about Sally Ride. She was not a pilot but the first American woman in space.

What about "Did John Brown start the civil war?". Do you know who John Brown was? If so I won't waste your time blathering on about him.... but if you don't, he's a FASCINATING historical figure. He's my personal favorite.

Or, you could write about the movement of Transcedentalism (like a naturalist kind of religion) that happened in the US in the early 1800's. It's really interesting, and it's all about like communal living and nature. Emerson was one of it's biggest proponents. I wrote a research paper about it when I was in school and did really well.

I did quite a bit of research into this. Fascinating.
