    Honestly, the most important thing you can do is use the right potato. Not every kind is good for mashing.

    Wow. I'm a mashed potato fiend lol. I usually use whole milk and butter in mine with sour cream. I'll have to try it with cream cheese and see how it goes!

    I have done the baking both ways. Once a day ahead and the other the day of and seriously couldn't tell a difference.

    I boil peeled, cut potatoes (any kind except sweet). Then blend in milk, garlic powder, butter, sour cream and Natures Seasonings. I don't have a set recipe...basically eye ball all ingredients and taste until I like them.
