Evaporated Milk??

On WIC I get evaporated milk..but truth be told I have no idea what to do with it. Anyone have some good, easy recipes that include evaporated milk? I am looking for new dinner type recipes anyways so anything including this would be really helpful

I believe you can use evaporated milk in place of regular milk in ANY recipe... I just don't know the conversion or anything

hmm this looks right
however if substituting evaporated milk with regular milk, remember that evap milk is called evap milk for a reason. for 1 Cup of regular milk, you must only use 1/2 Cup of evap milk and 1/2 Cup of water. mix the 2 together and it should work in the recipe. i have never had a problem with this.

I've used evap milk when makin mac and cheese!

*side note* I have my first WIC apt tomorrow and have no idea what to expect

I use evap milk ALL THE TIME! I use it when making homemade soups. I use it when making mac n cheese. Evap milk gives the recipe a richer taste, than just using regular milk. I also use evap milk when making alfredo sauces.

I also use it when making fudge!

Ummm...expect to sit down with someone and have them ask you some questions and go over some stuff, then they prick your finger to get your iron levels, then you talk to a nutritionist and they give you your vouchers . I just went for the first time a few weeks ago.

I figured as much, but I just wasn't sure if there was anything specific that it is supposed to be used for. I am clueless lol.

See I want to get into making more homemade stuff. I usually make boxed mac and cheese and canned soups. I am most certainly looking to branch out my horizons and try new things, I just don't always know how to .

You'll get there! 6 years ago, all I knew how to make was Hamburger Helper! I didn't know how to make homemade ANYTHING! Now I make lots of homemade meals and desserts. It takes a lot of practice! I promise there were nights, where we ordered takeout, because the meal I made wasn't "safe" to eat. My cooking has come a long way!!!
