What is your rice to water ratio? My rice keeps coming out crunchy and I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I follow the ratio on the instruction booklet... it says to use 1 1/2 cups water for every 1 cup of rice (it recommends going by the cup that came with it. but I would think it's the same.) You can go up to a 2:1 ratio though.. 2 cups water for 1 cup rice.

Our rice cooker calls for 1.5 cups of water to 1 cup of rice. But I've been told that different machines take different amounts of water.

On a lot of rice cookers there will be numbers or lines on the inside of the bowl and that will be where the water line should be after the rice is added. So if you use 1 cup of rice, place it in the bowl and then fill bowl to the first line. Also it helps a lot to "wash" the rice before cooking. Just place rice in bowl fill with water and kinda rub it together then pour out water and replace with fresh it can really help. Hope this helps.

1 cup rice:1 cup of water for white
1 cup of rice: 2 cups of water for brown 1:2.5 for wild rice I always wash the rice first as described above. A lot can depend on what kind of rice you use. Parboiled/parcooked can be too soupy and jasmine/basmati I have found can be a little dry.
