Wilton cake decorating class?

I've watched entirely too much Cake Boss and such and now i'm really excited to take this cake decorating class at Hobby Lobby. It is put on through Wilton and they have a little book and kit for each course.

Has anyone ever taken it? Was it worth it? Did you learn a lot? Just curious. I really have no idea what i'm getting myself into but I am excited!

definitely worth it. never attended one, but i used to work at hobby lobby and assisted the teacher if she needed help. wait til the class price is reduced by 1/2, which is pretty common. you learn alot, and there's three different courses, 4 classes in each course for the one course fee. if you get the half off its about 12.50 for the class. doesn't include supplies, so buy those with a coupon. sometimes the instructors hand them out. oh, and everything is so YUMMY!! have fun! i don't know if i answered all your questions, but if not, feel free to ask. only supplies you bring on the first day is a pencil..she'll tell you what you need then. but it'll be like course one stuff

i didnt learn anything from it i didnt already know but my mom is a professional cake decorator but if you have never done cakes before it should help

If you decide to take it, let me know. I've been wanting to take it, and it'd be fun to have someone to do it with.

Also, Moore/Norman technology offers a more advanced cake class for around $150. I was supposed to take it last fall, but I didn't get to.

I took it and I had a fun time. I did get tired of making a cake every week for just myself and so I cheated. I iced a piece of styrofoam for the class and that way I wasn't throwing away good food. I learned some cool tips too.
