Well, make sure you buy firm tofu for stirfrys or anything of that nature and make sure to squeeze all the excess moisture out of it. Then, marinate it in some sauce you like. Tofu doesn't have any taste really on its own, so you need to marinate it to give it some flavor. Then, I think pan fried is the best way to prepare it. It's pretty easy, and there is usually directions on the package on how to get the moisture out of it so it'd ready to use. Good luck!

When I'm being bad, I tempura batter it and pan fry it!
Like jennypage said, you definitely want to get the moisture out -- I like to put it in between cutting boards, in the sink, with heavy cans on top to squish it down. For the tempura, I then put it in a colander with salt sprinkled on top for 1/2 hour, then quick rinse. Make a batter with 1 C. flour, 1 egg, and I think 1/2 C ice water. Mix it only lightly. Throw the tofu in, stir gently to get it covered. Heat up some oil in a frying pan, and brown it on all sides. Might drip a little, but oh god it's good!

I buy extra-firm (or firm, if I have to), cube it, and fry the begeezes out of it, until all the water is gone. Flavor with whatever you want it to taste like (I usually use soy-sauce and fry it with veggies, stir-fry like).
Or cube, leave raw, and marinate in sauce for a few hours in the fridge. Then eat and enjoy.

Oh - if you want a better texture, freeze it first. Then thaw and squeeze the moisture out. The tofu will have a way different texture, but people usually like it better (then follow all above suggestions).
