feeling helpless =(
My fiance has been back from Iraq for a little over a year now and he goes through these things every couple months where its like he just shuts off. He shows no emotions and acts irritated with me, sometimes it lasts a couple minutes, sometimes its a couple weeks. I'm trying soooo hard to be patient and strong for him, but I feel like nothing I do helps and I don't really know what to do for him when he's like that. He says he wants me there, but when I call him, he sounds annoyed sometimes, and I feel like I'm walking on eggshells to try to deal with it. We're planning on moving in together this winter and getting married this summer, and I was wondering if it was going to get worse dealing with it then and what kind of advice any of you that are married to someone with PTSD have. I appreciate any advice!

Is he in counseling? Itd prob be beneficial for you, too, to seek out some sort of outside help with how to deal with him and his emotions.

I am getting ready to post something I have written on another forum that I think you should read. I encourage everyone to read it. I think it will be very beneficial and perhaps inspirational.
