The incident.
Okay, so I was invited to a party last month to celebrate Memorial Day/ My husband was invited as well. His parents had Dietrich spend the night so I could go. He had been texting me all morning, the day of the party (he never does this) so you can imagine the cloud I was on.
He said if you get here early enough, we can just go to the party together. I was stoked! Anyway, it was later in the evening and I started coughing. I couldn't stop. I wasn't chocking, just had a coughing fit. He immediately snapped at me and it was apparently annoying him, that he yelled and told me to stop! I was like wow! I am pretty sure that me coughing triggered him. I just couldn't believe how mad and annoyed he was.

I'm wondering if Duane's reaction isn't because he can't handle that he couldn't help his fellow brothers, he carries the guilt in his heart all the time. Then he sees you in need and there's nothing he can do - so he's triggered?? But all the same... this is a situation where I'd use the "explination not excuse" rule. Have you asked him why since??

I haven't asked him. I did talk to a few others who have PTSD due to war, they all said the exact same thing. A lot of the soldiers there, cough a lot.
