WOW!!! BETTER!!
They gave me a new medicine today, Clonazepam. I guess it's in the same class as Xanax, and Valium, but I took one earlier (it's a take-as-needed drug, in this case). It made me kind of high right away, which the doctor warned me about, but I got tired. I took a bath, and just relaxed, and now I'm pretty level. It's the first time in three days that I haven't been shaking and jumping and wiggling my legs and twiddling my thumbs, etc. It's the ONLY thing besides constant physical contact that's calmed me down.
BETTER! Not good. Not great. Still working my ass off, and nervous about trying to remember to take my pills at home, where I'll be distracted, and with my mom who doesn't like me taking them. Still, it's helping, and that's better. |

Klonopin is much better than xanax...the 'high' lasts longer so it doesn't cause withdrawal or addiction in quite as many people.
When I was going through a hard time, it was the best thing I could have gotten to calm myself down. Even now, if I start having a panic attack, my klonopin helps me out a ton. I'm glad you found something that helps. |

Have you tried using a pill planner? You fill it up once a week and you can then actually see if you've remember to take your meds or not. They are pretty cheap, available anywhere (walmart, cvs, walgreens ect). I use one. I was forever forgetting. I got one, keep it next to my toothbrush. I can open up the slot to "remember" if I took my meds or not.

Those pill things are awesome, that is if you remember to fill it. LOL! I would set an alarm on your phone to go off everyday to remind you to take your pill. Same time everyday so you don't forget a dosage.

Ohhhhh Kiwi, Klonipin is what they gave me for my nerves right after my ptsd event(s). It was a life saver. And (don't do this without the doctor's ok...
within 3 years I didn't need it anymore. I had learned coping mechanisms in therapy that keep me from needing it all the time. I still need something like that every now and then when i'm triggered, but we're talking maybe 3 times a year. I'm sooooo glad you found that medicine! On another note from one of your messages on another thread... I think I read that you went to another therapist and it didn't feel right? Go to another. Keep going until you find one that you click with. I can't tell you how much therapy helped me in my path to being ok. I learned things there that drugs just can't give me. Yeah the zoloft keeps my chemicals in balance, but its learning how to walk away, to slow down, to let go, position myself in a safe place mentally, etc. that helps me have great beautiful days again today. This is really good news! I"m happy for you! |

I don't take it on a regular basis - he wants me to use it as rarely as I can, but as often as necessary when I start really obsessing or getting really depressed. It blows me away, the effect it has, and because I can only take it four times a day, and I'm afraid of getting addicted to it, I'm learning to calm myself down and talk myself out of needing it. I took it four times the first day, twice or three times yesterday, and not at all today.
I'm still taking the prozac like I should, even though I was on the train. All's good so far.
