He finally responded.

I kept the conversation light. Asked him about his 4th of July plans and even invited him down to my sisters for a cookout and to see the fireworks. He says he may have to work, but I do hope he comes down. Me and his son would love to spend this holiday with him. We've only spent two-fourth of July's together since we embarked on this journey together. I miss him. I want to see him soon!

I'm glad he wrote, Traci. Hopefully he stops in - even if it's just to say hello and hug his son.

Me too. I was starting to get pretty sad that he just didn't want to talk to me. I do hope he comes to see his son for a little bit. He misses him a lot.
