Please Help...
I want to put together a kind of "girlfriend/fiancée/wife's guide to PTSD, so girls have a place to get general information and advice from people who have been through it.
If any of you have any good sites, books, or first hand advice (or second hand is good too!) I would really appreciate it!

sounds like a good idea.... i was clueless and didn't know it was happening... i didn't know about any of this stuff and didn't know anyone else in the same situation at all. i found this site like a year later and started reading this topic and was kind of like oh wow, i wasn't very supportive. i just had no clue. i feel really bad about it now.

Hi there!
Amazon has many different PTSD books: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw...-keywords=PTSD I am reading "Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Sourcebook by Glenn R. Schiraldioment" at the moment and it is pretty good (but it is about PTSD in general, not specifically PTSD caused by war). My DH was home for R&R already and he seemed to be fine but I just want to educate myself and be prepared just in case! I might get "Courage after fire" as well.... Hope this helped!

Ladies,
I just started another thread regarding an effort to compile this information for SO's. I have had some positive feed back. IF you are interested in being able to email questions/concerns directly to "the folks" that are in charge of this thru the Navy's ECRC program (but will help ALL services) PM me and I will forward you that info.
