Anyone go through this?

Ok se here's my problem. Ive been with my BFfor almost a year. I hate when he watchs the military channel or anything that I believe will make him go back and relive what he went through in Iraq he was there for 18 months almost 2 years ago! But still has Many nightmares. It gets so bad that When I feel he's having one I move away cause Im afraid to wake him because he gets a weird look apon his face like he doesnt even know that it's me! It scares me. And well he's having these nightmares he talks in his sleep and I hear everything like if he's really back there.

Have any of you gone through this or have any advice please help! Thanks ladies

It sounds like your BF needs some counseling to help him decompress. My DH has dreams but he's never not known who I am -- however be careful because he can accidentaly hurt you which would make it worse for him. Encourage him to seek out someone to talk to about it otherwise it most likely will get worse, not better.

Thanks yeah usually he takes a bit to realize that its me. For example if you falls asleep on the couch I wake him to come to bed and I dont touch him I just call out to him cause he gets startled. and then he finally realizes its me

Sorry I can't help more -- I wish I could -- but really what he needs to do is seek counseling -- it's not a weakness -- there a lots of people with issues because of traumatic incidents.
