just got off the phone with DH...and i'm kinda scared

so dh just called and we were having a great conversation till i noticed this weird sound to his voice. this is what followed

me: whats wrong?
him:i have been depressed all the time 24/7
me:for how long
him:this entire last month
me:are you ok to go out on your next mission
him:i dont know. the last time i went out all i remeber is getting in the truck driving out the gate, and then driving through the gate at the end of the drive ( is what went through my head)
me: thats not good
him: yeah i know but whatever i am going to talk to someone when i get back
me: why not now? talk to someone over there
him: they are all a joke over here
me: so you can't go on the next mission (he leaves for it in the next few days) if you are like this
him: whatever..i'll go on the mission.
me: you have to talk to someone
him:why? i will just wait till i get back
me: richard if something happened to you..i would always think it was cuz you were like this so talk to someone and sit the next mission out..do it for me please(that was what got him the do it for me part)
him: ok i will

when we got off the phone he swore to me he would do it that he wasn't jsut saying it to make me feel better

so now i am worried like crazy about him and its not fair for him to have to go through this now! he was doing great and now a lil over a month before he comes home he has to go through this!!

who wants to bet i am going to have someone who is going to have one hell of a time adjusting when he gets back (please god no PTSD) when he gets home?

i want to go hide right now.

this ****ing sucks.

awww girl im sorry. maybe for you he will go talk to someone and get this resolved. I know how you kinda feel, my DF was feeling the same way. and all the missions hes going on is getting to him. maybe also when he gets back you can have him go to a counselor or something to help him through it.

thank you ladies. rick knows i would kill him if he doesn't talk to someone when he already promised to so i think he will...but he is right the people at his base suck!!! our friend has an issue that they haven't dealt with for so long she finally called me to get the supertindent's number here at our base. so now i am worried for both of them

god me too...now i am starting to wonder if our cross country trip three weeks after he gets back is a good idea..i am also thinking i really don't want the MIL at homecoming. i don't think he needs to see them till he settles in..

I'm really sorry hun.

I've been through the same thing, dh was severely depressed for awhile last time, thankfully he felt better not soon after.

Unfortunately- he is right about the being teased thing. You know how guys are- always trying to compete for the most macho prize.

It took me yelling into the phone at dh for half hour before he said yes to going to see the medics for the abdominal pain he was having. Turned out- it was appendicitis.

so my friend thats over there with him just wrote me and she said
"he misses you so much it hurts. i don't think he should deploy anymore. i think you two should just be together."
if dh is showing emotion like that to his friends..then he is really really depressed.
