I was induced with both of mine.My first took almost 24 hours.and it was hard labor for about 18 of those.and abou 2 hours of pushing. My second one was about 6 hours and like 3 pushes. So I think it varys. But both of my Drs.said that anything over 24 hours they would start discussing c-section.We were at that point with my first when they checked me one last time and I was finally ready.Hope that helps.

I was induced at 37 weeks with both of my kids for pre-eclampsia. With my first I was in no way ready for labour and was completely closed and long and it took 46 hours. With my second I was already dialated to a 3 and 50% effaced so it only took 9 hours. Both of which were wickedly painful and I had an epi even though I wanted to go natural. With DS the epi wore off at 7 centimeters and I delivered naturally. Once the contractions get regular they aren't so bad and it is possible to do it naturally if you want it.

I was also induced due to pre-eclampsia. I went in on a Sunday night and my water broke early Monday morning. They started with the drugs probably around 8am and it's really a blur from there. Pitocin sucks. DD was born at 3:41pm.

I was induced for both of mine.
Aiden's was 10 hours and Gwen was 4!!! ![]() I had a ton of pain with Aiden and pretty much none with Gwen. I had the epidural with both, I don't think I really needed it with Gwen, but after the pain of my epidural line breaking at 9 cm when I was in labor with Aiden I got it just in case!! I really don't think inductions are all that bad if your body is ready for it. I was at 3cm and 50% w/my 1st induction and 4cm and 75% with my 2nd (I was induced a week early too!) Good Luck and I'm sorry you have to do it due to signs of pre-e. You'll be fine.
